Ingredients
- 2 Tblsp olive oil
- 1 Tblsp butter
- ½ c onion, chopped
- ¼ c celery, chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- 6 oz. tomato paste
- 2 Tblsp grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tspn basil, dried
- 1 tspn oregano, dried
- ½ tspn salt
- ½ tspn sugar
- ¼ tspn black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Steps
- melt butter and heat olive oil in a large pot over med heat
- add the onion, celery and garlic and saute until soft
- remove to blender and puree until smooth then return back to the pot
- add in tomato sauce and tomato paste and stir
- add the rest of the ingredients and allow it to simmer on lower heat for 30 to 60 minutes
- remove the bay leaf before using on your pizza
